Africa's stories deserve world-class infrastructure.
African entertainment is the fastest-growing creative economy on earth. Nollywood alone releases over 2,500 films a year. African music dominates global charts. African theatre is exploding across the continent and diaspora.
But the industry runs on fragmented capital, informal talent networks and opaque distribution deals. Hypa exists to change that — by building the professional infrastructure a continent-scale creative economy deserves.
Unlock capital, talent and distribution for African entertainment at scale — with professional-grade rigor.
The operating system that powers every film, series, theatre production and streaming release across Africa.
Rigor. Transparency. Ambition. Respect for creators. Global standards for African stories.
Founder's story
Why we're building this.
Hypa was founded on a simple observation: every one of the world's great creative economies — Hollywood, K-pop, Bollywood — grew on the back of professional financial infrastructure. Studios, exchanges, guilds, talent agencies, revenue systems.
Africa is producing more content than ever, watched by more people than ever. But the tools financing, connecting and monetising this work still look like the 1990s. Producers hustle for capital film by film. Talent has no verified way to be discovered. Investors have no clean way to participate. Revenue disappears into black boxes.
We started with the layer that unlocks everything else: capital. From there, we're building outward into talent, production, distribution, analytics and AI — one professional-grade surface at a time.
The goal is simple. Make it as professional to fund, staff and release a film in Lagos as it is in Los Angeles.
Long-term ambition
A continent-scale creative economy, professionally run.
